Welcome to SAS Board Prep

Enhancing the Scientific American Surgery mission to educate, the SAS Board Review (SABRe Surgery) has arrived! SABRe Surgery is the perfect means of measuring and sharpening surgical knowledge for the long suffering resident to nail the written Boards.

Part 1: ABSITE Review Exercises

ABSITE Review aligns with the ABSITE Content Outline topics. Exercises include core principles and advanced practice questions that you expect to see on the annual ABSITE and written Board exam. Use these exercises for practice and to test your knowledge before taking any exam.

Part 2: Mock Exam and Qualifying Exam Prep (QEP)

A 250 MCQ Qualifying Exam Prep, weighted according to the ABSITE outline. Account settings allows your program to take the QEP in ‘practice mode’ or ‘exam mode’.

SABRe for Individuals

We also offer SABRe Surgery (Board Review) for individuals which was developed for the senior resident and practicing surgeon.

Why consider SABRe Surgery?

Every surgery program is unique and learns differently. SABRe Surgery has custom settings for programs to train and prepare as they wish. In ‘Practice mode’, exercises reveal correct and incorrect answers plus score tracking. ‘Exam mode’ emulates the actual QEP experience, hiding all correct and incorrect answers, and score tracker, and allows residents to mark questions ‘For Review’.

Personal Logbooks and PDs Portal

SABRe Surgery comes with personal and private logbooks for each resident to track their progress, and see their scores broken down by ABSITE category and topic. For the Program Director, the PDs Portal offers quick yet elaborate metrics reviewing individual scores and progress, as well as the ‘big picture’.

The SABRe Surgery Guarantee

Scientific American Surgery guarantees satisfaction with the SABRe Surgery. We will stay with you until you pass the written Board Exam by offering continuous access to our huge question bank.
